Design Your Own Activity

Use this design process to create an activity that best suits your school and community

 At SADD Conference 2018, we joined forces with the NZTA Education Team who shared with us the step-by-step process they use when designing their advertisements and education programmes. They helped us to create a challenge which tasked students with designing a new SADD resource or activity design that meets current best practice guidelines. Students were stepped through the 5-stage ‘design thinking’ process to help them come up with relevant, meaningful and engaging activities.

Below are the videos we used at conference to explain each step and guide students with their design. You can use these videos now to guide you through designing an activity that fits a need in your school and community. Bear in mind that these videos were filmed specifically for conference so while they have some great tips in them, they do refer to some resources only used at conference.
