James is NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi’s Director of Regional Relationships for the West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland. James is privileged to work with a diverse group of organisations and communities across the South Island who are passionate about their part of the world and keen to see the transport system better deliver for them. His leadership approach is based on building strong relationships with empathy and imagination, bringing a strategic approach to problem-solving and long-term action.

James has 20 years’ experience across a wide range of sectors including central and local government, iwi, the arts and the private sector.
