Conference 2024

Conference season 2024 was hugely successful with 3 events held in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland. We saw some amazing outcomes from these events with students from across Aotearoa all bringing their A-game and contributing to the events with their creativity, innovation, teamwork and passion for road safety.

At each event, students were split into groups of 5-7 and tasked with designing a brand new digital resource to support SADD students all across Aotearoa to engage with a range of road safety issues. We saw some incredible ideas and results come out of this challenge and now have a range of new videos, social media campaigns and SADD activities to roll out on our website over the coming months.

Check out the links below to see videos of the student presentations. The final content created at conference will be rolled out on our website and social media pages over the next few months so make sure you are following @SADDNZ on Facebook and Instagram to check these out.

Student presentations

At each of our conference events, students were split into groups of 5-7 students and challenged to come up with a new resource that could be used digitally and would support SADD students all over the country to engage with SADD and deliver road safety education to their peers.

Each group was given a list of topics that were either road safety issues or were issues commonly faced by SADD groups. On night 1 of conference, the students worked together to develop a pitch on what topic they wanted to address and what resource they would create to address it. Once they got their pitch past the SADD team of judges, they were ready to get creative!

We are incredibly impressed by the work completed by the groups in a short amount of time, each group was required to plan and develop their resource and also prepare a presentation for day 3.

Here are the final presentations that student groups delivered on day 3 of each event. Please note we are still working through the final copies of each resource created and will be rolling these out on our website and social media over the coming months.
