Renee’s thoughts so far

Today on the blog Renee (Central North Island Delivery Lead) shares with us some of what she’s been up to since starting with SADD/Kaitiaki o Ara, and how she has been finding the job!

Kia ora!

Wow what a busy couple of months it has been! For me it has meant quite a lot of travel around the central North Island.

I have been catching up with teacher contacts, Fire and Emergency, School Community Police Officers, and Road Safety Coordinators from the Waikato to Gisborne,  Taupo, and Tauranga to the Hawkes Bay.

With our community partners and schools all making the time to catch up with me, term one 2023 is looking great for our regional clusters/workshops. Can't wait to see how our young people are going to lead in 2023!! Woo-hoo Team!!!.

Some of my highlights so far working with SADD have been meeting our very talented National Leaders at workshop in the October holidays, and witnessing their ideas and passion for SADD play out in their videos.

So far in my delivery role I have learnt that communication is key, and to keep building stronger and new relationships with our students, schools and partners.

I think what I'm most looking forward to next year is getting together with my regions, doing some workshops, and watching our amazing SADD students brainstorm together, seeing what plans they come up with for 2023.

An encouragement for our rangatahi:

                  You are

                 Amazing.

                  You are

                 Important.

                  You are

                  Special.

                  You are.

                    Kind.

Have fun these holidays, and don't forget if you are out on the roads this summer; make a plan, rest when you are feeling tired, and make good choices. Have an awesome summer team!
