Haere rā to our year 13 National and Regional Leaders!
As we wrap up another incredible year, it’s time to celebrate the achievements of our National and Regional Leaders. These legends have reached the end of their time in the leadership programme and are heading into exciting new chapters—whether it’s jumping into the workforce, exploring the world, continuing their studies, or a bit of everything!
Our Year 13 leaders have been an integral part of the SADD leadership programme since their selection in mid-2023. For many, their SADD journey started long before that, as passionate advocates for road safety in their schools and communities.
Over the past year, they’ve smashed it by:
Leading impactful individual projects
Contributing to media releases, social media, and focus groups
Shaping national campaigns
Participating in productive (and fun) team meetings
Appearing in videos and presentations
Delivering workshops and speaking at conferences
… and so much more!
We are beyond grateful for the dedication and energy they’ve poured into SADD. Their voices, ideas, and leadership have inspired students nationwide and made a huge impact on our mission. SADD wouldn’t be what it is today without each and every one of them.
Watching these leaders grow has been an absolute privilege. Over the past year, they’ve honed skills in leadership, teamwork, public speaking, facilitation, project planning, and networking—gains that will carry them far in the future. We’re excited to see what amazing things they go on to achieve!
While some of our leaders will continue to stay involved with Kaitiaki o Ara in new capacities, we want to take this moment to recognise their time, commitment, and incredible contributions.
To all our 2023/2024 National and Regional Leaders: thank you for being part of this journey. You’ve been absolute stars, and we’ll miss you in the programme—but we’re so proud of all you’ve done and can’t wait to see what’s next.
