Jump in the Driver’s seat, Term 2 is underway
Is anyone else not quite ready to accept that it’s already MAY?! Where has 2024 gone!
This year has flown by already and it’s no surprise given all of the awesome things that have been happening. We’ve recently wrapped up our annual conference season and now ready to get well and truly stuck into Term 2 activity. There is so much that you can get involved with this term with SADD -in this blog post we’ve outlined 5 opportunities that you can take on!
Apply for the National/Regional Leadership Programme!
Are you year 12? Or know a really cool person who is year 12? Applications are now open for our leadership programmes! This is an awesome opportunity to get more involved with SADD on a National and/or regional level and to gain some really valuable experience through individual and group projects, leadership training sessions. You can find out more info here.
Get involved with Road Safety Week!
Road Safety Week is an annual campaign run each year by Brake. This is a perfect opportunity to run and event or campaign in your school or community to help spread awareness of road safety and to celebrate your road safety heros! You can register to receive a Road Safety Week action pack here - https://www.roadsafetyweek.org.nz/action-pack. There will be lots of schools, groups and businesses across Aotearoa taking part in a variety of ways.
There are heaps of activities on our website that you can run during Road Safety Week. Check them out!
Attend a Term 2 workshop
Later this Term our Delivery team will be running a Term 2 workshop series! We tailor these to suit the needs of each school/region - we can run an intro workshop if you missed out on our Term 1 series, or we can deliver training and support to help you achieve something new this term. Keep an eye out on our social media pages and our website for info on these workshops and make sure to hit up your Programme Delivery Lead to let them know you are keen!
Give our interactive video a go!
Have you tried out our interactive video yet? The After Party is an awesome resource that we launched last year which provides an opportunity for young people to explore decision making and consequences in a fun way. You get to choose what paths the characters take! Check it out here! This is a a great option as something you can do and promote with your peers for Road Safety Week!
Get in touch with your Programme Delivery Lead!
Arguably the most effective thing you can do this Term is to touch base with your Programme Delivery Lead! We are ready to support you with anything you need and can help you come up with a great plan for Term 2 that suits you and your school. We can help you with all of the above options and more. Find all contact details for our team here.
Whatever you do in Term 2, we want to hear about it! Take photos if you can and make sure to tell us how it all goes. Go out there and have fun!
