Kaitiaki o Ara: A Refresh

Over the past 2 years, we have been on a journey of growth and evolvement. In 2021/2022 we extensively explored and consulted on our future. That piece of work culminated in the introduction of our new Māori name, Kaitiaki o Ara. Since then we have been hard at work undertaking further consultation on our programme framework and ‘6 Principles’.

We are excited to launch our refreshed approach, complete with a new programme framework and updated resource suite, all designed to support youth-led road safety education in Aotearoa in 2023 and beyond.

Our new programme framework is an extension of the ‘6 Principles’ and we believe it is a broader and more accurate depiction of the road safety issues our rangatahi face every day. Our focus is on 4 Programme Aspirations:

  • Safe road users

  • Safe vehicles

  • Sharing our roads

  • Driver licence journey

We encourage you to keep an eye on our social media and other communications over the coming weeks as we showcase new resources and show you how they can be used within schools and communities.
