Valued Partner Contribution Award 2022

You may hear us talk a lot about the wonderful Holly Hullena from the Wairarapa Road Safety Council. That’s because she is just a road safety superstar! Holly does a lot of mahi to tautoko rangatahi in Wairarapa. Holly is always there helping mentor and coordinate the Wairarapa region. One of her latest projects has been The Wairarapa Youth Symposium, after years in the making this was held in June this year and continues to spark inspiration in other regions across Aotearoa.

We asked a couple of our National Leaders about how Holly has helped them through their Road Safety journey.

“Holly provides every SADD student in the Wairarapa region with incredible support and encouragement. She is more than happy to get involved in anything we get up to, and you can tell she cares about the students she works with and what they achieve. Working with Holly is always great fun, she never fails to come through with fun activities, and of course she always provides food. All SADD students in the region are extremely lucky to have Holly as our Road Safety Coordinator.” - Jeremy Leveridge 2021 - 2022 National Leader

“Holly has been an invaluable asset over the years, and we are truly lucky to have her. She has always been more than ready to help out, from coming into school to work with us directly, to arranging video calls to simply catch up. Holly has done an immense amount of work to support the SADD students as much as she can, and she goes above and beyond to help make things happen and offer us amazing opportunities. She has organised regional events that have helped students from all over the region meet and collaborate on larger projects, which has helped all of the SADD groups implement positive change throughout all of the Wairarapa. I am so grateful for her always having had time to lend me a hand and support me whenever I need it and in whatever way she can.” - Elise Jung-Leask 2022 - 2023 National Leader

In celebration of all her hard work Donna had the absolute pleasure of presenting Holly with the first ever ‘SADD/Kaitiaki o Ara Valued Partner Contribution Award’ at the SASTA/Waka Kotahi conference. It is an honour to present Holly this award, and to show our appreciation in the value she brings to SADD/Kaitiaki o Ara.

Kei te mihi atu ki a koe mo tō mahi! We look forward to continuing working together in partnership!
